Quick summary: This establishment is, by FAR, the WORST, MOST DISRESPECTFUL, GREEDY, UNTRUSTWORTHY, and just SHAMELESS AND SLIMY business we’ve experienced in Lisbon. If you are in the area, my recommendation is to just walk across the street — there are plenty of options for better service and better food.Let’s be clear, this is a busy, touristy area and our expectation was having a place to sit down and being served clean food and water — we were fine with the crammed, ill-lit space and the (VERY) small menu. We walked in, the place was full but the patio groups were starting to leave. The manger, eager to welcome us in, promised to clean up one of the patio tables for us while we sit and wait by the bathroom. 30 min in, having not been offered a menu or asked if we’d like any drinks, we watched a large group walking in and being offered the patio tables. After spending 10 min to make sure the larger group was situated, the manager came to our sitting area, brought us menus and asked if we were ready to order drinks — not mentioning a word about the patio seats we were promised. When we asked, the manager told us, unapologetically, that the patio is too busy and he can’t seat us there — by which point we accepted the sunk cost, stood up, and left as the manager fake apologized for “being too busy”. Then we walked over to Arcaz Velho and had a great pitcher of white wine sangria and one of the best Pastéis de Bacalhau we’ve had in Lisbon.What a stupid waste of time. Zero stars.
