It was on our fourth night in Cascais that we found this place and it is by far the finest food we have had here. The inside is very small which means there are no large crowds to contend with which for us was fantastic.As we drew close the proprietor was outside, fearful that she would try to drag us in like they do in the town centre generic restaurants, we approached with caution to check out the menu. To my surprise the opposite happened, we were left alone to look at the menu in our own time. We had planned to visit another place this evening, so we wandered on, however we got as far as the street corner and turned back, such was the allure of the place, its proprietor and its menu.We stepped inside and instantly felt at home. The proprietor was simply the most friendly and helpful person we have met in Portugal, she was sweet and kind and took her time to help us with the menu and point out the options which might suit my 11 year old child best. We ordered our food and drinks and everything came in a timely fashion, not too slow and not too quick.And so on to the food itself. I have had Indian food many times in my life, but not sure I have ever eaten food from Goia before. It was beyond words, cooked fresh and to perfection. As I write I am still digesting the food and the experience of the evening, I would love to write more about the textures, the tastes and spices, the rich aromas and flavours but for now it's too late and I'm too tired. I have no doubt the food here is prepared with passion and a wish that those who eat it leave completely satisfied and enriched by the experience.If you find yourself in Cascais don't wait to find this place on the fourth night like we did, get in there straight away and save yourself from the dross that the town centre outlets serve up. This would be my first port of call if I ever find myself back in this town again.
