Monte das 7 Chaminés AL

Stay: August 2022 (UK based reviewer) - Monte das 7 Chaminés is a rare rural oasis of cool and peace a few miles from the unspoilt beaches of the Alentejo. The decor is tasteful and the garden is manicured. The homes are air-conditioned, well equipped and well furnished, and afford privacy despite their close proximity. The atmosphere is relaxed. Ana and Nuno, the owners, are very helpful and passionate about sustainable development in the local area. Our family of four with two children of 10 and 13 were very comfortable in the house (n.4) and enjoyed the un-crowded pool. All other guests there were Portuguese families. Cercal, a 5 minutes drive away, has several basic bars and restaurants, a pharmacy, a small supermarket and a bazaar. Monte das 7 Chaminés is accessed via a 1 km long mud track, flanked by olive groves and pastures. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Monte das 7 Chaminés to anybody who is considering a stay in this authentic, unspoilt part of Portugal.
