Love Lisbon Restaurante & Bar
I would have never come here if it were not for the strong recommendation of a Nepalese waitress I met (at another restaurant). I asked her where to have authentic momo dumplings and this was the first place on her list.Love Lisbon has a nice small outdoor seating area and the inside reveals a tacky sports bar that got me strangely nostalgic for Asia :) It was complete with the Nepal flag behind the bar and a picture of the mountain ranges in Nepal (I believe might be Annapurna or Everest) on the wall. I was told they have live music after 8pm.Love Lisbon also has unassumingly good food. The staff here are all from Nepal. They were friendly, pleasant and polite. I ate very early (6pm) so the place was still empty and the food came quickly. The waitress recommended I try the Chicken Chhoila which is newali spicy grilled chicken. It really was SPICY with a mix of flavours. I could taste the ginger, garlic, coriander and raw onion. Slightly too salty to eat on its own, probably because like most asian food it was meant to be complemented with rice or bread (but I didn’t order any).I really wanted momos in the warm soup like I had enjoyed in Nepal before and it was not on the menu but the waitress knew what I wanted hooray!!The portion was more than substantial - 10x dumplings packed with minced chicken). It arrived piping hot, tasty and full of spices. The soup was not too spicy if you are worried, and I could taste the cumin, coriander and other spices. It was tasty, savoury and moreish. Comfort food for sure.Of course this can’t be compared to homemade momos which I have been fortunate enough to try, but they are pretty good and comparable to what you can get in Nepal. It definitely has the taste of Asia! I would order it again. I am looking forward to trying other dishes too when I am next there.I also recommend coming here with friends as it is the kind of casual place good for groups and sharing food over music, laughs and drinks.Thumbs up. Thank you Love Lisbon.
