We Love Small Hotels

I can't say enough good things about the experience we had working with Filipa at We Love Small Hotels. I stumbled across their website through a Forbes article and quickly realized that they would be able to plan the type of trip we were looking for - far from the busy centers of Lisbon. We wanted to see smaller, unique, locations in Portugal. Filipa customized our itinerary as a hybrid between two of their advertised routes, she arranged the rental car, and even added on a night in Sintra when I asked for it. Paying was a little tricky (compared to simply provided a credit card), needing to wire transfer the funds from the USA, but my local banker was able to do it for me. Upon arrival, everything went exactly as planned. The car, the hotels, etc - every reservation was expecting us when we arrived. Filipa even communicated my Celiac disease dietary restrictions in advance so the hotels were prepared before I arrived.If you are going to Portugal, do what we did and let We Love Small Hotels do the planning. As locals, they truly know their country better than anyone. You won't be dissapointed!
