O Monte Velho
An amazing experience in the countryside of the Algarve, just north of Tavira. This is a simple restaurant with plates and courses determined by the cook. Email ahead to make the necessary reservation.The car ride to the restaurant was almost as entertaining as the meal! A remote mountainous setting with winding roads and great views. Try to carpool, since there's not much parking.The food for our party of 10 was plentiful! We had let them know ahead of time that there would be three who only eat fish (not meat), and these folks were served beautiful platters. Plus, there were beautiful veggies with every course!When we were all full, the server came out and asked if we would also like to have their delicious pork cheeks. We enthusiastically said yes" and were treated to another large platter of delicious tender meat and perfectly cooked vegetables.The wine flowed freely throughout the meal. The dessert
