Sobreiras Alentejo Country Hotel

It starts with a dirty road and then you're a very nice country hotel in Alentejo. It would also be a great hotel because of the location, countryside and the style, but there are some negative points. The room is very spacious and nice. A big minus is that the rooms are light-hearted, so you hear your neighbors and you have a bathroom without a door. For us the big problem is that they don't know how to run a hotel. All of them are simple things, the battery of the safe is empty, on the second day the shower gel is empty, the other day a towel is not exchanged. At breakfast you need to choose a time when you arrive, but every day you come into a room where tables are not cleaned up from the previous guests and they stay like this for a long time. The sum of it ruins the experience and is the reason why only 3 stars.The poor service also shows on dinner, they have a fixed menu for 20€. We booked it for the first night. As they have three shifts, you need to choose between 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30, which is a nice idea to not have a crowded restaurant. But we had an overwhelmed girl, who was unable to handle the dinner. Kitchen worked in their rhythm, so you got the soup while you were ordering the wine. Without our intervention, we probably would have received our bottle of wine after the main course. The table next to us was still eating their soup and also received the plates for their main course at the same time. Also we did not like that they are expanding their hotel, including construction noise and not calling attention to it on check-in or apologized for the inconvenience.
